How to Enter

Registration Process

Registration opens January 10, 2022 at 12:01 am (EST) and closes on February 4, 2022 at 8:00 pm (EST). To register, you must go to the “Register Now” page (link to register now page) and fill out the online registration form. By registering, you are confirming that you have read and agree to the 2022 U.S. Young Lions Competition Official Rules. Teams will receive a confirmation code upon completion of the registration. The below information is required on the registration form:

Your registration code will indicate which category you registered for, followed by a six digit numerical code. For example, registration codes for the Digital competition will show as D-106-XXX. Please keep a record of your confirmation code as you will be asked to enter it when you submit your entries.

Category Team Criteria

Please note: Team partners do not have to be employed at the same company EXCEPT for Marketer teams.

  • DIGITAL: Open to a team of two digital professionals.
  • FILM: Open to a team of two creative professionals.
  • MARKETER: Open to a team of two marketing professionals at the same company.
  • MEDIA: Open to a team of two media professionals working within a media company or within the in-house media department of an agency or corporation (ie: planner/buyer/strategist).
  • PRINT: Open to a team of one art director and one copywriter.
  • PR: Open to a team of two PR professionals working within a PR agency or within an in-house PR department of an agency or corporation.

Eligibility

Participants must be 31 years or younger (born after June 25, 1991).

The 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners of all six categories will be asked to provide proof of age for both team members. Failure to do so will result in disqualification.

Participants must be legal residents of the fifty (50) United States or the District of Columbia with valid U.S. passports or hold valid Visas authorizing travel to France.

Judging

The judging panels will consist of the U.S. creative directors, media and PR executives, and senior marketers who will select the winners for all competitions. Judging will take place from early March through April 20th with the final winners announced on or about April 20th. Final round presentations of Digital, Marketer, Media and PR will take place on a TBD video conferencing platform in the April 5 – 20th timeframe.

Assignment

The creative brief will be sent via e-mail to all registered teams on Friday, February 11th. The brief will provide all information to complete the project; details for each specific category will be outlined. If you do not receive the brief by 5 PM ET on February 11th, contact Susan Lilley immediately. There will be NO extensions of the entry deadline of February 22nd, 2022.
